Going North is an Indigenous-owned, Northern Territory-based culture studio and consultancy with deep roots in art, music and fashion. Backed by an extensive network of collaborators, Going North works end-to-end to deliver world-class thinking grounded in the cultures and communities it began.
Going North approached Extra Medium with the aim to revamp their current agency site from the ground up wit a new CMS and a complete re-design to reflect their recently updated identity and branding.
We crafted a unique and cohesive design system that responded and reflected Going North’s new identity. Our team focused on intuitive and creative experience design to ensure user-friendly navigation and interaction. We then developed a robust, responsive website design that delivers a seamless and engaging experience across all devices.

We created a minimalist design system that embodies Going North's brand ethos of simplicity and precision. The system includes a refined color palette, consistent typography, and versatile UI components. This ensures visual coherence across the site and allows for easy updates as the brand evolves.
The experience design focused on clarity and ease of use. We streamlined the navigation, emphasising a straightforward user journey that quickly guides visitors to key information. The design prioritises clear calls-to-action and intuitive content layout, ensuring that users can easily find what they need without unnecessary distractions.
The development phase involved building a fast, responsive website using Webflow. We implemented multiple CMS components throughout that allows Going North to easily update content and adapt to future needs. The site's performance was optimised for speed and accessibility, ensuring it meets the highest standards for both user experience and SEO.
